What are the warranties of your battery storage cabinets?

We provide 5-year warranty support for battery modules, 2 years for PCS, while the warranty of other system components and integrated energy storage cabinets is based on the final project configuration.

Do lithium ion batteries degrade in storage?

Yes. The lithium batteries will degrade over time even if we don’t use them at all. This is unavoidable due to the lithium battery chemical and physical processes, which leads to a gradual loss of capacity and efficiency in lithium batteries.

What is the difference between a megawatt and a megawatt hour?

How does ambient temperature impact the performance of battery energy storage system?

Ambient temperature has a significant impact on the performance of battery energy storage systems.

  • Low Temperature Impact

At low ambient temperatures (0°C to -20°C), the battery’s capacity and voltage significantly decrease compared to the standard 25°C. This means the battery cannot deliver its full energy potential in cold conditions, resulting in reduced efficiency and performance.

At higher temperatures (up to 55°C), the battery’s capacity and voltage remain relatively stable and close to the values at 25°C, showing better immediate performance in warm environments. However, prolonged exposure to high temperatures may accelerate the battery’s aging process and reduce its overall lifespan.

The performance and life of your battery storage system are affected by temperature. When it’s cold, the battery won’t hold as much charge or work as efficiently. When it’s hot, the battery works well but may wear out faster over time. So, keeping the battery at the right temperature helps it last longer and perform better.

How does the charging C-rate affect the voltage and capacity of the battery?

In C&I battery energy storage systems, the charging C-rate directly influences battery voltage and capacity. Lower C-rates like 0.5C enable the battery to maintain higher voltage and deliver its full capacity efficiently, ensuring optimal performance and longer battery life.

When a battery is pushed to higher C-rates like 1C, 2C, or 3C, its voltage drops, and you get less usable capacity. Efficiency falls, and the battery wears out faster. Choose a PCS with charge and discharge power that keeps the battery in its best C-rate range to extend life and keep the system stable.

Is it bad to store solar lithium batteries fully charged?

It is not recommended that lithium batteries be stored fully charged.
As we know, lithium batteries degrade over time, if you store the fully charged batteries, it will accelerate the process of degradation, which will influence the capacity and lifespan of the batteries.
What’s more, fully charged batteries may cause safety hazards problems if the batteries are damaged or in improper conditions.
We recommend you store battery energy storage system at a state of charge of 30% to 70%. This will help to minimize degradation and maintain the batteries’ health over time.

How long can lithium batteries be stored without use?

HBOWA battery energy storage system can be stored for about 10 years if stored in the recommended environment (at a temperature of 25°C, with moderate relative humidity and avoiding direct sunlight, etc.), with a certain degree of capacity attenuation.

However, when lithium batteries are stored in an environment with high temperatures and high humidity, their storage time will be significantly shortened. Therefore, please follow our manufacturer’s suggestions for storage to achieve a long service life.
