Check the main parameters on the 5KW inverter(DC side):

  • Max DC input voltage
  • MPPT voltage range
  • Number of MPPTs
  • Max input current  per MPPT and max short-circuit current per MPPT
  • Max DC power
  • DC/AC ratio

Check the main parameters on the 550W solar panels:

  • Vmp/Imp, Voc/Isc
  • Max system voltage, series fuse rating

How to match them? Examples shown below:

  • 6S Vmp (hot→cool): 216.6–264.6 V → inside 120–500 V

  1. Current & per-MPPT power:

  • Current (1 string/MPPT): Imp ≈ **13 A**15 A  (avoid paralleling unless your MPPT allows >26 A).

  • Power per MPPT: 6 × 0.55 = **3.3 kW** (check against your inverter’s per-MPPT DC limit—typically OK).

Result (default build): 12 panels = 2 MPPT × 1 string of 6S → 6.6 kWdc on a 5 kW inverter (DC/AC ≈ 1.32).

If you want higher DC/AC (~1.5):
Use 14 panels = 2 × 7S → 7.7 kWdc (1.54 DC/AC); voltage/current still passes with the above numbers, but confirm the inverter’s per-MPPT DC power limit before locking the BOM.
